Guest philgale

go try them on, shoei and arai fit me perfectly, had an xr1000 and now got an arai gpx or whatever its called.

the agv to me is the most uncomfortable lid ever made, so chances are not ever single one of those lids will fit, which is the most important thing.

get out try them on and buy the one that fits, you will still find a style you like.

personally, after buying an arai its more comfortable than my shoei was so im gonna say that, but you may be different

The hardest part is walking into Hien G. trying on 3 diffrent lids after them pesting you "which one?"... then waving goodbye haha :P

But if i want the decent helmet for £200 mark guess i'll have too.

... But am still torn, although getting the shoei or Arai which are RRP just less than 300 notes has to be better than the AGV at £200ish for RRP... if you get me?

Cheers for replies.

I tried AGV and shark helmets for around £200 and the comfort was rubbish in the end got a hjc for £80 and its great. you've just got to try different helmets on and see what suits you sir.

Forget what costs more but is reduced etc etc......a £200 lid that fits is better than a £400 lid that doesn't.

The fit

The fit

The fit,

essential for comfort and more importantly whats happens if you happen to come off.

I have an arai chaser which was a better fit for me than £500 shoei's and AGV's

If it turns out the Shoei XR1000 is the best fit for you, get some earplugs as well, as mine's quite noisy!

I think the whisper kit is supposed to help but I just bought a load of good quality ear pugs instead, same price but guaranteed to cut the noise down as opposed to taking the risk of forking out for the whisper kit if it turns out that it doesn't work.

Also the XR1000 (although replaced by the XR1100) was Shoei's mid level helmet, I think competing against Arai's chaser. Assuming both fitted me well I would be more tempted by it as it has more vents etc + I think it has a removable lining which I don't think the Condor does.

My penny's worth!
