I’m starting to plan my next euro trip for the above dates, 3 of us confirmed so far with a few more showing interest. A few ideas going around but at the moment it’s still totally flexible, might head down to Italy over the alps, or maybe head towards Sweden. We will almost certainly be stopping off at the Nurburgring for a day too!

The question is......would anybody be interested in joining us?

Planning a euro trip, destination the European Juggling Convention in Munich a month after and am looking for some inspiration of where to visit along the way. Nuremberg ring is a must :). I will be watching this thread with interest. That gives me a year to DAS else I'll be forced to do it in a car.

Nurburgring is most defiantly a must, the only way I can describe it is bikers heaven.

There’s a place not too far from Frankfurt called braunfels that we went to last year, that’s worth a visit and obviously goes without saying to get into the black forest

This does sound enticing, especially the roads down to Barcelona and them maybe hop on the ferry to Majorca as the roads on the island are breath taking.

I'm guessing most of you are either single or don't have kids to be able to plan this so far ahead?

I want to go again too! 8-)

but!, none of this fannying around sight seeing

get on toll road, pin throttle, stop just before petrol

runs out, fill up, do it again!

repeat until destination reached

Then pool/bar pool/bar for a few days  8-)

Then do it all again on the way back.

I'm sure we could do salou none stop!

Torrevieja would be asking a bit much on the bike

but I did it in the car

Marbella's a bit too far to do in one!

I did Santa Ponca, Majorca in the car back in 06' - from door to door it took 23 hours including a 3hr wait in Barcelona & the 4hr ferry ride. We didn't do the tourist route though we did the A9 E15 from Lyon motorway.

Pool bar pool bar sounds a good holiday to me :) There is a road in Majorca from Andratx to Valldemossa that takes you up high in the moutains, the roads are smooth and the eye candy is amazing. There is also a bike meet every Sunday that takes you up on another road, it takes you past the military base high in the mountains, i have some photo's will post soon. These guy's were mental on this road, always fancied doing it..

This is a copy of the email I've just sent out to some mates regarding this trip, hoping to start booking things up next month, let me know if you're interested

Euro Bike Trip 18th June to 26th June 2011

Saturday 18th June 2011 – Ferry from Harwich to Holland - £88 including cabin.

Leave at 2315 hours arrives at 0745 hours on Sunday 19th June.

Sunday 19th, Monday 20th in Amsterdam

Hotels in Amsterdam vary in price and it will depend on what’s available when we book. It looks like we will be paying no more than 150 euros for both nights near the main centre, might be as cheap as 100 euros.

Tuesday 21st June ride to Nurburgring 223 miles so about 6 hours would be more than enough time if were taking it easy. Leave Amsterdam around midday.

Single rooms in hotels near the ring will cost no more than 200 euros each, but will be more likely around the 175 euro mark for the 5 nights, normally including breakfast. This will all depend when we book and how many people are going as we will need to find a hotel we can all fit in, there’s plenty around.

Cologne is 60 miles away so we can have a night out up there if anybody fancies it. Any suggestions for places to ride out to once were over there are welcome, I can imagine the ring will be open every evening and possibly even for some full days, the times for June haven’t been updated on the web site yet.

Last time we went the ring the laps cost 22 euros each, they get cheaper the more you buy so we could all chip in a buy a bulk load to bring the cost down.

Ride from the Ring back to Calais for the Ferry home is 300 miles, plus the other 150 miles or so once we get home. I’m happy to split this journey and maybe stop in Bruges overnight or somewhere similar, can price hotels up if required.

Ferry home is around £25 depending on what time we head back on the 26th June.

Total mileage would be around 530 miles, plus whatever ride outs we do and laps around the ring.

Going on past experience we don’t have to pay for the hotels at the time of booking so all we will need to book is the ferry crossings, I’m happy to do this but will need the money up front. Let me know if you fancy it and I’ll confirm prices once I know numbers.

If anybody has any different ideas then send them my way.

Cheers

Alan
