bwhiti Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Been looking into buying acf 50 but I'm a bit lost on how much I would need to buy. I see they do an aerosol can or would I need more than that like the 1 litre container? Also I was wondering if I was my bike I take it I would then have to re apply acf 50 again? Sorry if these are daft questions Quote
hammer5 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I bought two can's from Ebay last year and i have used about 1/2 of one can and layered the whole bike before winter. Keep it on and then wipe it off when its very dirty.BB Quote
Guest Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 One can is all that is needed.Had my bike treated last month, supposed to last at least 12 months. Quote
hammer5 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Only downside to ACF50 is everything sticks to it, so you go for a few hours and come home and it looks manky..BB Quote
bwhiti Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 Thanks guys that's really helpfulI shall get myself a can and leave the wash till summertime Quote
Guest Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Very little is needed, as it has very good 'creep' qualities.Too much however, results in stuff sticking to it, like salt granules. They are then suspended in the coating, and as air can get to one side, can still corrode.Would deffo recommend it though. Just remember it isn't (nothing is) a cure all. So keep an eye on the bike and treat/clean/farkle as necessary Quote
Guest Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Had mine treated, was still clean when I got home. But it was f**king awful after my ride today So a quick hose down once the bike cooled down a bit and tis all goodOHHHH shiiitt just realised I left the heater on in the garage...... BRB.EDIT: Back, bike is now almost totally dry and now looking pretty clean Quote
TC Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 The American Navy use it on jet fighters on aircraft carriers to keep corrosion at bay while they are at sea.I use it just incase i get caught out in the rain. Quote

Guest Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Ran an FLHTCU all year round using this stuff - and every summer it looked all sparky new. Quote
