so many bike accessories.

Recommended Posts

1. Heated grips if you ride all year round

2. Pinlock antifog insert

3. Cig lighter socket.

All brilliant things to have

i hear catcrap is better?

Ahh excellent and based on what

If fitted correctly pinlocks are excellent, yes if you are fitting it yourself it takes a bit of time to get it right but once its right they work unlike most of the cheaper alternatives.

Just to back this up, this is experience of 3 different Shoei helmets with them fitted, a Lazor helmet with it factory fitted and 2 AGV helmets with self fitted inserts. All of which have been used all year round in all weathers, and all of which have performed faultlessly. Mind you if you fancy using catcrap insted be my guess, I will continue to fit pinlocks untill something better arrives (like a double glazed visor!)

PS. Just remember to read the instructions! the insert is made of a hydroscopic material (absorbs water) so you need to store the helmet somewhere warm with the visor open to get the best out of it (i.e. not in the garage).

So does catcrap not work then? My pinlock has picked up some scratches over time and they are horrendously expensive. Plus you still mist up around the edges that arent covered by the insert.

Catcr*p and equivalents work beautifully. personaly I use bob health visor spray. It lasts for about a week at a time before it starts to let mist get in. But I rode though the winter with it, applying it once a week (normally the monday morning before college run). It didn't let me down once, and better still it cost me £6 at a dealers, and that was last april! I'd say I still have at least half a can left. Tis excellent stuff.

Reason I didn't go for a pinlock was that I didn't want a 'bubble' effect on my visor. I wanted to be able to see clearly out of the whole visor whereas the pinlocks cut off the edge if it gets foggy/misty. Reducing visibility. :|

As for add'ons I'd go for a cig socket, and build one yourself! Mine cost £0 and works a treat. :) Very handy.

i find having some ROK straps really useful for strapping a bag to your bike.

Catcrap is great! and it lasts a very long time.

a pair of inner gloves for the winter.

a buff (or equivalent).

rear paddock stand

Wurth dry chain lube

microfibre cloths (for cleaning the bike, and keeps your visor bug free)

a buff (or equivalent)

Never really thought about that as an accessory so much as an essential peice of riding equipment lol

Your bike will still start in the morning without a buff, so in my opinion it's an accessory not an essential piece of riding equipment
