clunking shaftdrive v twins

do all shaft drive gearboxes clunk when goin up and down the gearbox regardless of speed or is there something i can do to either ease it or stop it i done all the usual stuff like oil change,cable, adjust and check clutch which seems ok.any suggestions?

thanks to everyone who replied to my problem it seems i am goin to learn to live with it just like to add a few months ago i had a problem with changing down the gears while slowing down while riding so i adjusting the cable slack which improved it slightly. is this a sign of clutch wear?

the down shifting could be down to clutch wear


not sure on the clunking


im sure one of my work mates has the virago i will ask him and see if he's is the same
