Ricco1 Posted May 22, 2011 Share Posted May 22, 2011 The indicators on my GN 125 flash around 150 times a minute. A friend told me that anything over 120 a minute will cause an MOT fail. ThanksI would say change the flasher relay but........recently I fitted a new indicator and because I did not crimp the wire well enough the lamp I changed flashes faster than the other side so you either need to change the relay or check your indicator connections . If one side flashes faster than the other I would check the above suggestions around poor connections, corroded bulb holders, etc. If both sides flash at the same rate I would probably go with Polecats suggestion that the flasher relay may be a bit sus. Does the flash rate stay the same irrespective of engine speed or does the flashing get faster as the revs go up? Regulator?Check the bulbs to make sure you have the correct wattage for your bike.Does it have the original indicators or have they been replaced with LED ones? Best course would be to ask at a bike MOT testing station. Are the indicators LED or bulb? The indicators are bulb, rather than led...I'm thinking that the best thing to do might be to take the bike back to the shop where I bought it. I asked them at the time if the fast flashing would be a problem for the MOT. They said not. The bike is still within a 2 month "all things mechanical" warranty. Any thoughts on this? ohmagain Posted May 25, 2011 Share Posted May 25, 2011 I would take it back, it will most probably fail the mot (depending on where you take it of course).
