Ashaman Jay Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I've got a fault showing on the FI indicator that means the front oxygen sensor isn't heating. The haynes manual says it won't interfere with the running of the bike or damage the engine, but would you be allowed out on the road for a mod 2 if the examiner saw the FI light?? rennie Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I would think so yes!stick a bit of tape over it! Quote

He'll be on his bike before he tells you to start your engine, so he won't ever get to see it. That said, so long as it doesn't compromise safety, it's of no concern to him. Quote

The heater element is only there to get the sensor up to it's best working temperature right after the bike is started. As soon as it's warmed up there isn't any need for a heater element.I was just wondering if seeing an FI light would mak them cancel the test. That tape idea is in reserve Rennie the light is bloody annoying, and knowing honda I bet a replacement sensor is bloody expensive.I need to start commuting to edinburgh from glasgow from monday, so I really need to pass this mod 2. I'll do it after the test tho £200 for a replacement Quote
