I'm looking at getting some much needed waterproof textile trousers.

They need to be Cheap, Waterproof (not just say they are) ... tried and tested prefered as they all chuffin say waterproof but arnt really!

Im sick of having a wet crotch :P

I'd rather not have to use plastic overtrousers if i dont have to btw

as someone once said:

low cost or good quality you can have one but not both.

I can recomend some outstanding trousers that are fully waterproof and great quality, but they are not cheap. I would recommend Bikers suzuka or any Halversons kit.

Halverssons is bloody awesome kit.

Hein Gericke Gortex kit is good. Go for 'Gortex Performance Shell' is best stuff I have owned for waterproof stuff.

To echo Mark 'buy cheap buy twice'

I have got the Spada Flage as have cobbz and edgey. I rode with them all through the winter and did not get wet once, they still look brand new. They also only cost £50.

Gone through some shocking wet weather in Weiss gear and none has let me down yet (2 different jackets and 1 pair of trousers). Worst day was 8 hour advanced training and it rained for about 7 out of the 8 hours. Not a drop of water got in.

As Akey said... low cost or good quality you can have one but not both.

Find a happy medium... That's what I did with Weiss.

I can personally vouch for Halvarssons gear. I don't ride in the rain if I can help it but when it happened unexpectedly last year, the gear stayed dry inside and out. This is the power of Goretex/Dryway. Cheaper waterproof alternatives usually just have a waterproof lining underneath a polyester outer. Not only is this not breathable, but it also means the polyester outer becomes waterlogged and heavy and takes an age to dry out. Not very nice if it hasn't dried by the time of your next journey.

It's not particularly pricey either starting from £350 for a jacket and trouser zip-together suit. Hein Gericke Goretex gear is similarly priced.
