mealexme
yes, you can do your CBT on a 50cc twist and go, and get on a 125 geared straight away after (if your over 17)The people who said you cant may be confused with the motorbike test which you take to get a full licence. When you take that test you need to do it on a geared bike to be able to ride a geared bike

Rod York
Why don't you take full value of the knowledge you will receive at the CBT and wait a few days.Ask then to be trained on a geared bike. There is a whole section on gears, which will not be overly aimed at you, if you have a moped/twist & go.If that is not an option; explain what you intend to do & ask if you may return to sit in on another CBT later on(without charge ) to get the gears "section" under your belt- training/practicing in the off road area.Good luck & let us know how you get on. Yes. My son did it on a ped, and rode his geared bike as soon as he got home.
