Tango Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 the challenge will be getting close enough to Tower Bridge to get it in the photo with the bike......I often drive around that area and there's b*gger all places to stop.....all the roads are Red Routes...... Unless of course you could get the bike on one of the river boats.....or you time it so's the bridge is up and the traffic is stopped..... Pavement Isn't that where the pedestrians are?..... Quote
Decor58 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Don't worry, there's some good cleaners out there if you get some on your bike Tango Quote

Throttled Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I see getting the photo as part of the challenge, this was on the pavement at the Falkirk Wheelhttp://farm8.staticflickr.com/7174/6812504707_c4eb1d5f2e_m.jpgthis was into Knockhill race circuit after opening a gate which said closedhttp://farm8.staticflickr.com/7155/6806807597_9c88e22d55_m.jpgthis was stopped on the Tay bridge itself where it widened out at one endhttp://farm8.staticflickr.com/7027/6806778047_a8ae32c966_m.jpgthis was another photo taken after riding onto a footpathhttp://farm8.staticflickr.com/7028/6801485689_1ed6c6ba06_m.jpgYou wait for an opportunity, have camera and sign ready and if anyone asks just say what you are up to. People who have spoken to me have all be very positive about the challenge when I explain it to them and think it is a great idea. When I was in Oban at McCaigs tower a local came over and had a good chat about what I was up to. At the Commando monument anther biker turned up with his camera whilst I was there. Just a co-incidence and he was not from this forum. He was back from Afghanistan and had come to pay his respects and photo the monument. We had a great chat and then rode together for a while until he headed off home to Inverness. When I told the chap working at the Biker Cove in South Queensferry what I was upto he was chuffed to bits. That is why I was invited to sit in the shop to warm up and he gave me a discount. You can get one too if you say where you are from. Thats why I think the Challenge is a brilliant idea. Quote

Tango Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Managed to get Tango back together this morning....so, as it was a nice day and we had 2 more pub tags to get, we went out for a little ride. Both the pubs we went to were in nice locations....but we stopped at the Kings Head in Waddenhoe for a coffee. Really nice pub down a cul-de-sac with nice views over their gardens and the river from the beer terrace. Although the owners said it gets mad in the summer on nice days. Real Ale pub too, and if I wasn't on the bike I'd have been tempted by the Nene Valley Brewery's BSA ale!!.... Roads were a bit salty but mostly dry....so no scary moments. So we had a really nice day out.... BonnieBird soaking up the rays at the King's Head, Waddenhoe Quote
Bonniebird Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Blimey, I look enormous in that photo - I was wearing about 6 layers though Here's a picture of the view from the terrace and Tango getting stuck in his jacket...... Quote
