Guest Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 That does look a good bet. Any ideas about the date? Quote
Tango Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 The bike has a headlamp mask on it....so I'm guessing it's wartime or at the end of WW2. The model looks similar to the 1939 model I linked to. Judging by the people at the side of the road in their sunday best it's possibly an escort for an important visit or VE day? Just guesses on my part really.... Quote
Tango Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Thanks very much Front number plate?Again a bit of a guess....bit I don't think "official" bikes had to have them (Police, Military, etc)....only potential law breakers were required to have them..... Quote

Guest Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I think that ticks all the boxes. It was taken in Plymouth on VE day, and that also answers the number plate issue. Thank you. Quote
Phil Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 No one noticed then it actually says ariel on the side of the tank? Quote
