Gloves that keep hands dry

With the recent spate of rain, I've just about managed to stay completely dry, except for my gloves!. I'm currently wearing this jacket (http://www.getgeared.co.uk/rev-it-jacke ... tegory=125) with these gloves (http://www.getgeared.co.uk/held-motorcy ... tegory=145) and i find that once the rain sets in my hands end up soaked, and therefore cold. Ive tried with the gloves under and over the jackets outer sleve, but it's the inner that's waterproof and i cant really get the gloves under that. Im not sure if it's the gloves being not quite waterproof in the face of driving rain or if the rain is running down the sleeve under the cuff.

Either way, i'd like to continue commuting through winter as much as possible and would like some opinions/reccomendations on keeping the hands dry. I dont mind spending the right money for the right gear, but at the same time obviously wouldnt want to spend more than necessary to keep the rain out.

In the rain ALWAYS have your sleeves on the outside of your gloves or the water WILL run into your gloves

As above, I always wear my gloves under my jacket cuffs.

So if the jacket only has a waterproof inner that wont fit over the gloves, im basicly stuffed and need a new jacket to stay dry? i feared that might be the case. I didnt mind buying new gloves but was hoping to avoid a new jacket

what you could do is buy a cheap waterproof over jacket, which you can then wear the sleeves over your gloves. This is what i do.

Also, i've got those hein gericke gloves (the lobster hand style) and they keep my hands dry.

Gore-tex is the way to go if you've got a lot of spare cash, otherwise some of the cheaper alternatives are still very good:

shell-tech (hein gericke)

d-dry (dainese)

drystar (alpinestars)

hippora (not sure?? not quite as good as the others)

read something in the Ride magazine this month saying that these technologies are very similar to gore-tex (as the gore-tex patent has ended now), but a lot cheaper as it's the companies own technology so they can produce it cheaper than using gore-tex.

one last thing, for leather gloves anyway, is buying some nikwax leather waterproofing wax. Works wonders, and does actually work!

do what I did last winter. Next time you stop off at a petrol station grab a hand full of the plastic disposable gloves and use them inside your bike gloves. It will keep your hands dry from the rain but they may get a tad sweaty. although if its cold it shouldnt be a problem

I have Heine Gericke Pathan Evo 5 finger version and as yet have stayed dry.

On sale at the moment in Hein Gericke for £41.

I like the glove with two fingers as it reminds you not to grab a whole handful of front brake in the wet.
