Tiggie Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 cant decide whether or not to paint the airbox to match the engine or leave it faux chrome? what do you think? I already have the paint so it wont be an expense just cant decide what to do.and before anyone mentions the rear wheel it now matches the front Quote
rennie Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Personally, unless you're going to completely de-chrome it,I wouldn't.I'd have left the wheels chrome too! Quote
Tiggie Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 they were quite pitted and rusting all the time, bike lives outdoors so got fed up of cleaning them Quote
RantMachine Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 I'd go for it! That said, if you have Photoshop or similar you could always do a mock up and see how it looks. Quote
Stu Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 bin it do your test get a bigger bike oh that wasnt the question was it Quote
Tiggie Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 That is in the planning stage! Planned to do at start of this year but have had job issues. Quote
Throttled Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I agree leave it as it is due to the other chrome. Quote
klingelton Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 it's plastic chrome effect anyway, so it's not going to pit. if it's not chipped, i say leave it. Quote
Tiggie Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Will probably leave it, just couldnt decide whether or not it would look better. here is a before picture, I have repainted the engine & forks along with the wheels. Quote
klingelton Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 looks much better now. I think the chrome helps with creating a flowing line down the side of the bike. Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 thing is the cruiser style of bike is meant to have far to much shiney stuff on it losing some wont hurt but i wouldnt lose it all unless u plan on never reselling the bike as all it does is make it harder to sell on due to it not having the said bling Quote
Tiggie Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 good point. I am leaving it as is, as I said before, the reason I did the wheels (and pipes) is that they were pitted and prone to rusting, I think it looks better now than before though Quote
