Slipping out of gear?

So, 3 times in an hour the bike has dropped itself out of 5th gear, doing about 50mph-60mph. I get the initial engine roar, ease off the throttle and then it seems to pick up a lower gear, I feel the jolt forward as the engine braking kicks in and then it's fine again for a while.

I'm thinking chain might need tightening, but it doesn't seem that loose? What else could be causing this?

Are you wearing different boots?......you may laugh, but sometimes changing your footwear can change the feel of the gear shift.....and you don't lift it into gear fully, allowing the box to drop out of gear.

Other than that.....chain tension, engine oil.......and worst case, bent selector forks.
