Hi all


Just wondered if anyone can recomend a heater for the garage as its getting quite chilly when working on my project.

You don't want any kind of gas heater (propane etc) as they produce masses of condensation....I used to have a Dimplex oil filled radiator in mine and that seemed ok...

Since your garage is probably not well insulated, trying to heat the air is pointless.

Instead get an InfraRed heater that heats surfaces (like you!)

while this is true with it been in a garage there will be masses of condensation already :)

I agree but using a gas heater will make rivers.....when I used to fix cars etc for a living we had the big blower ones and you could feel the damp coming off them if you stood in front of one...

Not if you spray your walls with Expanding foam!! condensation free and warm to the touch walls

I use a huge space heater and don't have rivers!!!


Infact I dont even notice any more condensation


It heats the place up quickly and end up turning it off after about 20 mins!

Joe this year I am going to shovel my way to victory at the top of the garden & put a base & mega bike shed up there :cheers:

I will post up a thread, for the op I will be using an oil filled electric radiator

Thanks for the replies guys. Been told halogen heaters are good and cheap to run. Tho I do like that fan heater advertised.

i just end up working next to a halogen floodlight so i can see better and that kicks off enough heat for me :P
