Never had any but not heard nothing but good reviews of black rain evo. However carrier bags on feet turn most boots waterproof Think I might go for the sidi's like you say... Nobody ever complains about them Quote
Joeman Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I've got the alpine star S-MX6 boots.Love them. Very comfy from day one.I would certainly recommend them.. Quote
Bonniebird Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I have Sidi Black rains - they are almost waterproof in a total deluge but not quite - damp feet as opposed to a squelchy inch of water with my previous 'waterproof' boots.I found they run a bit small size wise, particularly if youwant thicker socks in the winter Quote
Tango Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I've got Black Rain Evo's......had them about 4 years now......not particularly waterproof now.....but nothing that a pair of Sealskin socks can't fix..... Quote
raesewell Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 What I said beforeAltbergs might not be sexy but they are waterproof and stay that way for many years Quote

(all the review say so) I can get the SMX5 Waterproofs for £130...I'm still doing the research on the 6's whether they're waterproofedit: The 6's come in goretex and non goretex... Now price searching So I've decided to buy the Spada ST1 WP's because1) My girlfriend's paying for them (late bday present)2) The amount of good reviews Quote

These are cheaper than the Sidis....Fully waterproof? No idea - ive never got them wet... lol My S-MX 6 failed after 4 months. I had worn them maybe 15 times!I noticed one day they felt a bit looser than normal when I put them on.When I got to Wiilingham Woods and dismounted I just happened to look down at my right boot and the plastic ankle mechanism that connects to the boot to give support had come away! I looked more closely and saw a washer trapped in the gap so realised the screw had vibrated loose. No access to screw head from inside as the boots interior material was covering it. Looked at the left boot and the same; screw not connected!!!Rode home and was conscious of the fact my ankles were not as protected as the should have been.I returned them to Sportsbikeshop for an exchange and upgraded to the S-MX Plus. What a difference!! Way more support but just as comfy.Check your boots Joeman and keep an eye on them. Mine could have been a one off, but I think it's a design fault. Quote
