Guest Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Serviced the bike and ended up cleaning the air filter. It was a bit mucky but not enough to warrant such a drop in the advertised MPG. Still have the tank of fuel to go through but... I guess it's just shit for gas. I'll accept it now BEFORE:AFTER: Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 that filter looks filthy to me shouldnt the paper section be far more red in colour ?altho if its a k&n then it should be more purple and needs washing out the the k&n cleaning fluid and re oiling Quote
Guest Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Ironically I just blasted it with the air compressor (the other way to the air that goes in) and then re - oiled. Came out much better but probably could do with a proper clean.Having said that, I don't think it was that bad that I would notice in the fuel economy and after using the bike to yellow light today... I can confirm it to be true. Quote
Sherrif Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I have an R1100SVanderlinde pipes and chipped MPG RUBBISH but so like the bike Quote
Guest Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 This is the noise I was talking about (managed to get it on video today). Happens when the revs drop on pull away. Normal clutch noise?Second is obviously a quicker pullaway, noise starts but with some clutch & revs, doesn't get louder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EeVAEyFwYE Quote
Guest Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 After hearing that it sort of sounds like mine, but it isn't the clutch (for me). There's a black bit of plastic underneath my right fairing and at certain revs it vibrates and sounds like something is wrong. If you've got a paddock stand I'd recommend putting it in first and letting your clutch out... It'll help you identify where the sound's coming from. Quote
Joeman Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 When you de-baffled the bike, did you leave anything in there that might vibrate? Almost sounds like a lose heatshield vibrating about. Quote

Definitely not coming from the back end anyway... Quote
JamBerryKing Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 just sounds like your not giving it enough beans off the line. or letting the clutch out too much, for the revs. Quote
