Those who let their dog poo on the pavement and don't bother to clear it up are lowlife scum who don't give a toss about anyone except themselves. The dog doesn't know any better, but the owner definitely should.

Why?

Because (as happened today) the dog poo gets all over the wheels of my daughter's baby buggy, or all over the wheels of a disabled person's wheelchair, or all over anyone's shoes, or anything else (especially at night).

I used to work in a rehoming centre and we used to walk the dogs daily. Not clearing up the dog poo would get you a formal warning - it was drummed into us that because we had a lot of dogs to walk, one thing we absolutely must do to keep the reputation of the place good was to clean up after the dogs.

Those who own a dog should be responsible. If I see anyone letting their dog shit everywhere and then just walk away, then I will publicly and loudly shame them.

These anti-social twohats give the rest of us caring dog owners a bad rep - Just like some bikers!

Most councils impose fines if the owner is reported - Would I report this. Bl@@dy too right I would!

Couldn't agree more. As always it's the humans fault not the dog.

On a side note, you never see white dog shite any more

theres a reason for that. (useless factoid) back in the day people bought 'green' tripe from butcher.. humans don't eat it and so it was cheap and really easy to get. its vanished now that traditional butchers have largely gone. those that remain don't bother getting it from the abattoir as the market for it has vanished. green tripe = white poo.

so called 'tripe' dog food is a mixture.. so even if you feed the dog just that the poo isn't white.

(end of useless factoid)

on a 'further' side note.. it surprises me more people don't step in dog poo... as so many people don't look where they're going being far too absorbed in their phones.

as it happens.. i carry poop bags every time I take my little treasure out. though he's far too precious/fussy to do it on pavement.

I thought the thread was "Dogpoo Lotus" when I first read it which in itself would be entirely accurate. :-)

To follow on from the "Where's white dog shit gone" observation - I've noticed that "Dog shit alley" seems to have faded from existence too - there used to be one in every town.

We have a 'dog shit alley' where I live that is a short cut to the train station. A few years ago, me and the wife were coming home through it and I stepped in some. I gave them a quick wipe on the grass before attempting to go in my house but the wife wasn't having any of it - she made me take them off and she set about cleaning them with some of her special stuff she keeps under the sink. Anyway, a few days after that I went out to do some Christmas shopping on my own and halfway around Marks and Spencer's, I stepped right off my soles! Whatever the wife had used, it had completely dissolved the glue that holds the sole frame to the shoe! I looked a right nana trying to walk back to my car in shoes with no soles or heels. Didn't help that I was pissing myself with laughter at the time too.
