satansmeerkat
hello peoples,I've started a new project, a Yamaha SR 125. Me and my buddy are going to street-tracker it and sell it.We have done all of the mechanical bits that needed doing but now the part we all hate with a passion... The electrics. The engine will turn over and the neutral lights and everything are on, but when we hit the ignition the plug will spark once and then nothing. Every time we hit the ignition it happens.Any hints? I think first poet of call will be new plugs and possibly a new coil. Thanks in advance,Dave
eastanglianbiker
Try new plug and also the end of the ht lead where the cap fits onto might need trimming back a tiny bit to make better contact
satansmeerkat
Tried a new plug and trimmed the HT lead, still same problem. Checked the coils with a multimetre and no continuity at all, also the the Haynes it says to check both connections on the coil, and when I checked, there is only actually one connection on it, so it has a burnt out coil that didn't fit the bike anyway. So onto Wemoto for new coil methinks.
