cockercas Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 To help fund trackdays next year i was thinking on stocking up on gift vouchers over winter while il have abit more money to spare.Il Pay for them on a credit card, but what happens if the trackday company go bust? Could i claim the money back from the credit card company like if it happend with goods? Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Why don't you ask your credit card provider. Mine (AmEx) says 'yes'. Quote
cockercas Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Indian call center and im abit deaf.I spend most of the time asking them to repeat themselves so i try to avoid ringing them. Quote
Steve D Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I think the section 75 credit card guarantee only applies to items costing between £100 and £30,000 so, for example, a £99 gift card will not be covered. Quote
cockercas Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Good idea stu.I can buy them in the £100s Quote
Mr Fro Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Careful on stocking up, most of them are only valid for 12 months. Quote
cockercas Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 They will be well gone within 12months lol.I just dont fancy buying loads of vouchers and then the company folding like hottrax has. Quote
Stu Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 you could always try and save the money or just pay them on the card when you want to do them and pay the card off over winter Quote
Mr Fro Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Prices have gone up quite a bit this year Stu so I see the logic of getting them now. But of a risk buying them but if one company has gone belly up then there's more business for the others. Quote

cockercas Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Im spending about £300 a month on trackdays. I stick it on the cc and pay it off when i get the bill.So when the seasons over il still be able to afford the £300 so i figured i could stock pile vouchers to either ease the cost next years season or (more likely) do more trackdays. Stu Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 or another option stick the money on a pre paid credit card http://www.mastercard.co.uk/prepaid-card.htmlno risk then and you have the money when you need it plus the bonus of not been stuck to one track company you can go to other tracks with other companies Quote
