Private plates on a bike, i have been trying to get sl93tzr for a while just comes up with won't be aviable until June 2043 ?

Because it's in the new format the numbers are year specific

So 13 is the first half of 2013 and 63 is the second half

23 will be 2023 with 73 the second half

33 is 2033 and 83 the second half

43 is 2043 and * drum roll* 93 is the second half

And you won't be allowed to put it on a tzr either. You can't make a vehicle look newer than it really is.

How do you check availability.. I haven't yet as I've been worried that I'll put the one I want into a site and they'll go "Not available... Cos we just reserved it, Moron" Similar to some 'web-site name' sites..

Trick is not to search for your exact plate. Just search on a few characters.

Sites like regtransfers or plates4less are good places to start.

Also DVLA site let's you search.

I bought mine from eBay late one night.. Bit of an impulse purchase tbh.

I didn't know you could get a private plate for bikes.

I have one on my car and could get one that's L18 instead of L19 so think it'd look good.

Thanks for the heads up.

I wanted '1 RSC' for my bike but when I do a Reg check on it, someone has got it on an 07 corsa that isn't taxed...

Wish they'd let me put it to better use :crybaby:

I have never understood the need for private plates. In fact the number plate is the last thing I look at when looking at a vehicle in traffic. They are a bit of a waste of money as far as I am concerned. When I am out on my Ural or Panther then I don't need a private plate to get noticed or have people wander over for a chat. The worst ones are the sad people who have to get the actual word written at the bottom of the plate so you can work out what the reg number says.

I saw a w**ker driving a black X5 around today with the number plate. F 17 KER. The 1 and the 7 were stuck on in a V shape. What can you say really.

This sums it up. Check BOTH plates, and the fact there is a young child in the white car.

I rest my case

Lol, what a bunch of morons..

Loads of arm waving and car crashing but no actual fight!!

Why didn't the bloke in the white BMW just gently push the door of the black one, fold it back and drive off? With kids in the car and angry shirtless driver he would have easily got away with it..
