Will0104 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Put a new exhaust on my ybr125 and i have noticed that the chain now ever so slightly is touching the center stand when up. I dont really know any way to make the exhaust lower therefore the metal that holds the stand away from chain down. Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 does the new exhaust sit higher than the original one if so where the bump stop would normally be for the stand you might need to put a bracket on to lower it slightly.....................or is your chain very slack and needing adjusting?? Will0104 Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Chain was only tightened about a week or two ago so isnt the problem. The problem is there isnt a way to make the exhaust sit lower that i can see as it is bolted to the frame Quote

I have known chains to need adjusting every day when they are on their last legs can you post pics of the problem Quote
iangaryprice Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 1. Check chain tension.2. Check exhaust is correctly positioned. 3. Is the rubber bump stop for the centre stand fitted.4. Put a spacer or bigger bump stop to move the stand lower to get it away form the chain.Quality of aftermarket parts vary. Some just bolt on and work well, others need a bit of fettling to get hem right. Quote
Will0104 Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 I don't get what you mean by checking the exhaust is positioned properly, surely if the screws are lined up with the hole/exhaust firmly attached it must in the right position? Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 it might be sitting higher than the original did hence the stand will sit higher under the bike did the original exhaust have a rubber stopper on the underside of it for the stand to rest on and if so has the new exhaust also got one if not you might need to make a bracket up to go from the bolt that it mounts on to under the bike for the stand to rest on Quote
Tango Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 agree with EAB.......check the position of the stand stop.....If the new exhaust has one..... Quote
