Why is it no matter what job i want to do I invariably need to buy a new tool to do it. Do you ever reach a stage where you have all the necessary tools or does this just go on forever?? [emoji389] [emoji389] [emoji389]

Nope, you reach a stage where you have most things, then it's just the odd thing you need if you change vehicle and it needs something special.

But you can never have too many tools! Got to have back ups of stuff just in case... and I do *need* three torque wrenches.

In my experience, eventually you reach the stage where you own two of some tools because you couldn't find the first one! Or you reach the point where you start thinking you need a bigger shed/garage to put them all in!

I had all the hand tools I need so I started on the power tools of which I now have some duplicates. Then I started on welding/metalwork stuff - MMA then MIG then TIG and all the associated gubbins.

I just got a couple of lab grade benches (1500x750 each) and am on the lookout for a pillar drill, lathe and milling machine. Low and behold I can barely move in my garage now so I'm having that doubled in size. No doubt I'll discover some other equipment that I need shortly after that happens.

Moral of the story: once you've got a full deck you'll just move on to the bigger, better toys. :-)
