scottynapalm Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Hi gents got a CBR 600 RR with a all in 1 brake indicator unit. The brake light is lit but when I apply the brakes front/rear it's not getting brighter like it used to?? The indicators work fine. This is a LED unit. Any pointers on what might be the issue please? Mr Fro Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Dodgy switch? Is it the same with both from and rear brake? Quote
scottynapalm Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 Hi mate. Yeah same on both brakes?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Tango Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Could be a dodgy connection to the light unit......or the light unit itself could be faulty...... Quote
scottynapalm Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 Will have to try get it stripped down in the next couple of days. Going to Manchester from exmouth on Friday [emoji23]Thanks pal[emoji1303]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Tango Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 First thing I'd do mate is to put a meter from the brake connection on the light unit and the frame and measure the resistance.......when you operate the brakes the resistance should go low.....If it doesn't, then you've likely got a wiring issue or both brake switches are duff.....otherwise it's likely to be the light unit itself..... scottynapalm Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 That any good?http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160528/47690b0bdd51aacb4d0ba7c5cb39153d.jpgSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Tango Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Yeah, that'll do it...... Use the Ohms setting between the brake light connection on the wiring going to the light unit and the frame......you don't need the ignition switched on.....and operate the brake levers fully.....The resistance should go low when you pull the levers...... scottynapalm Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 Cheers pal. Will go at it later[emoji1303]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Stu Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 I find it easier to just check you have voltage at the connector when you operate the brakes I have had false readings with resistance before But either way will work Quote
scottynapalm Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 Will do pal thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
