DKTax Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 I was riding home tonight and as i was going up a hill i lost all power, i pulled over and attempted to start her back up but she woulnt turn back on, Is acting like my battery is drained but i have no idea any suggestions? Quote
Tango Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Try charging the battery and giving it another go mate......maybe the charging circuit on the bike is stuffed.......check that the battery terminals are tight first though..... Quote
DKTax Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 Got her home and battery was fine, infact my charger was telling me it was fully charged. i noticed my 15a fuse part was undone so re connected it, she got power back i left her alone just went to go back out ono her sat down and she cut out again and now i cant get any life into her Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Hi ,with ignition on are your indicators and rear brake lights coming on Quote
DKTax Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 Nope nothing i turn the key and nothing happens Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Follow the red wire off the positive side of the battery to the 15amp fuse check that again Quote
DKTax Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 i found that and it looks fine mind you i dont no what wouldnt look fine Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Hi , if you have got no lights on the dash or any signs of life that fuse is the main one, can you take it out and have a look ,or get a replacement, could be your battery is showing charged but not good enough for power, can you take it off and give it a good charge if the fuse is ok Quote
DKTax Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 So when i take the fuse out and put it back in the dash lights up and everything then just cuts out :S Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Yes ,look like you have loose connections, to begin with follow the red wire to the ignition switch and check the connections there , then from the ignition to the starter button, check there, and while your at it the red to the reg/rectifier, do you have a manual Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 This could still be the battery. I had one recently doing the same - the battery showed good voltage but was collapsing as soon as any load was applied. The charger wouldn't touch it so it looked like it was at full charge - when in reality it was fried.Try testing the battery voltage with a 12v bulb connected to it - see what voltage it is holding when the bulb is connected. DKTax Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 i followed it to a set of cables under my fuel tank and it was hanging out of the fuse block so im guessing that is the issue Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Could be ,no harm in looking further, I can send you the manual if needed PS I think what your looking at could be the R/R or CDI Quote
TimR Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 If the loose cable block doesnt solve it ...Either renew the fuse or clean the fuse ends with a wirebrush/emery paper / wirewool/ brillo pad / rough stone (kerb edge)/ scrape with a knife blade .And depending on fuse holder type see if you can close the terminal points to make the fuse a tighter fit(gently) Quote
