Versydon Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I am very new to this forum and I'm clueless when it comes to engines. My 50CC geared Motorbikes (RIEJU RS2 MATRIX BLCK SERIES 50) was working fine a couple days ago, it had to have a restrictor installed in order to pass its MOT, I'm not sure if it had anything to do with it, but it used to reach a max of 60MPH but now only reaches 15 if I'm lucky. This is something I am going to have to try and fix myself as all the mechanics in my area are fully booked for the next month and this motorbike is my daily driver.I have done countless amounts of hours of looking up what the problem could be and have found nothing, ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED Quote
Hoggs Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Hiya, I've moved this over to the pitstop section as this is where we keep our smart people According to wikipedia restricted they should get to about 30mph and unrestricted about 55mph which almost ties up with what you said.. why did it need the restrictor to pass? Westbeef Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 How is it restricted? Is it something that you can adjust and you may have overdone it? Could you de destricr it again and see how it does? Quote

Yeah thanks, it needed it because where I live 50CC's are not meant to pass 60KM/h but mine reached 95KM/h Quote

TimR Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 1 do you have the correct licence for it to be unrestricted ? 2 do you have the correct insurance for it to be unrestricted .3 if its happened since the restrictor was re installed ... its due to that . Quote
