Is it Thatcham if....

Is an alarm really Thatcham approved if its not fitted by a Thatcham approved installer? I have one on order but the Dealer is really busy and far away. I'm busy too so we have a scheduling problem. However there is local "go to" mechanic who fits alarms but doesn't want the hassle of buying them (Its a core strengths thing). So if its fitted by him, is it still approved? (and how would anyone tell anyway?). Yes I know there are mobile fitters but I've already ordered now.

I think you can get a Thatcham certified guy to come out to you and install your alarm......

I just thought it had to be Thatcham approved.......... not fitted.

I had mine fitted seperately, and my Insurance "Bennetts" are aware it was fitted by a local garage to me................ no issues what so ever. I suppose I wont find this out properly though until I get it nicked

But as it keeps my insurance premium down.......... I am sticking with it
