potatobroxd Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 (edited) I've attached a picture belowI've recently inspected my chain and noticed a link looking odd. Since the chain is only around 1800 miles, I'm wondering if the image below should be a cause of concern?(The other links are perfectly fine) Edited February 12, 2019 by potatobroxd Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 It shouldn't be like that. I'd try lubricating it and seeing if it will free up. If not then it's a bad link. Some OEM chains are a bit poor anyway so maybe consider a better quality replacement. Quote
Westbeef Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 seized link, 1800 on a CBF is probably right espcially if it's OEM.Edit: Just had a quick google, that chains also quite a cheap one. In the range fo £14 for the bike and with something so cheap I wouldn't expect much more. Quote
megawatt Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 New C&S kit required. Buy A DID heavy duty one. Quote
Arwen Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 if it is just the one link like that then you can try working it loose by spraying lots of cleaner and thin lube at it. Give it a bit of a wiggle and they sometimes come free, once it moves properly take it for a good run and recheck. Quote
