swapping nuts

Hi all, on my bike the wheel/axle nuts are a crappy green colour, and i want to swap them for some stainless steel dome nuts, there should be no problems doing a straight swap, i won't need to remove the axle, or alter the chain tensioners, will they need to be torqued up, or just tight, thanks

Having domed nuts might prevent you from achieving the correct torque. If it was me, I'd stick to the green ones where you can still see the thread.

Aren't there any R clips or split pins then ? I wouldn't be worried about what colour the wheel nuts are . Summer's here for a few days so just get out and ride the thing .

No R clips or split pins, not going to swap them right away, was just going to get some replacements, ready to swap if/when an opportunity arose

You can buy chromed or stainless steel replacement nuts (not capped) and yes, they need to be torqued.
