Mr Fro Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 ...on the cg125...Whenever it's a bit wet out the brakes are snatchy and squeaky until they get some heat in them.My "cure" is to ride the first few hundred meters in second gear with front or back brake on which is a bit dicey as the front tyre is about as grippy as a moist haddock.Anyroad, I've had them apart and they look fine, cleaned out the dust, roughed up the drum and put a small chamfer on the leading edge of the liners but they're still pants in the wet.Has anyone got any great ideas or tricks they'd like to share as I'm fresh out of ideas.Cheers,Fro Quote

Guest Richzx6r Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Yea chuck the cg in a skip that makes the brakes 100 times better Quote
fastbob Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 You've done everything I would have done , particularly the leading edge chamfer so all I can suggest is using a different brand of shoes .I've ridden a few CG,s but a can't remember the brakes being harsh . In fact , I can't remember the brakes being anything . Quote
Mr Fro Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 You're probably right. The battery died several months ago so I need to get one of those too.Just priced up EBC shoes front & rear plus a motobatt. Less than £50 - the joys of a CG. The big question is can I be arsed to de-lace the hubs and skim the drums... Probably not. Quote
