I've just renewed my insurance with mce. Some pain in the :booty:

I had a gap where I had no bike soni rang them and asked if my NBC was still ok. They confirmed it was so I said I'd like to proceed with the online quote. Gave them the reference and they went through every question again ffs. Then it was 150 more expensive than the online quote. She just said that's the price.... spoke to the manager who eventually changed it back down.

I had a bad experience with Bikesure. I was insured with them on my 125 Duke after doing my cbt.

I passed my test and bought a MT-07 and rang Bikesure to advise and change everything over. I told them I wanted pillion cover and EU cover as I had passed etc. She said fine I paid the difference and she sent through the docs. When I read the new certificate it clearly said pillion not covered and no eu cover?? It was too late to call them so rang from work next day. I couldn’t speak to the girl who had been dealing with but her colleague told me that she had made a mistake. My current insurer would not cover me and would need a new policy with another firm for an extra £400 or so. Livid. Been told one thing and sold another. Didn’t recognise their mistakes and just wanted more money. I ended up cancelling with them, still charged a fee for that and switched to Aviva. Very happy. The advisor I spoke to there is from a biker family, he’d come home from school and his mum would have her engine in bits on the dining table. I can relate to that.

Enough that I had to insure the excess through a 3rd party. Unfortunately no other insurer came close to their quote. Still massively expensive but I think the next cheapest quote was over 3 times mce

That's one of the issues with mce is the excess! It's bloody extortionate!
