mutton dressed as lamb............

Ford mondeo :D

Mine isn't. Getting on a bit now - made in 2003 — but it is all aluminium XJ. Very comfortable family car with Air suspension although fuel consumption is a bit rubbish.

I get about 28mpg. I drove to Dover for a last year from Wigan and got 36mpg which isn't bad. MPG not bad on the motorway but rubbish around town.

:offtopic: but a friend had a Jag X type 2 litre diesel as a company car at the same time as I had a mk3 Mondeo 2L diesel Ghia.

I ribbed him something rotten about the Jag being a cut down Mondeo, ie no 6 speed box no heated front screen etc.

Then I later found out that his company provided the Jag but you could not have a Mondeo ‘cause they were too expensive.

Need to get the 2l diesel sport, I'm getting roughly 60mpg on m/way journey and around 50mpg round town

I only do around 2500 miles a year in the car now as I commute on my bike all year round so I'm not to bothered with MPG in my car. I get around 45mpg on my Hornet which I'm happy with. When they are working properly there isn't much else I'd rather be driving for comfort than an XJ6; even if though it's 16 years old. It's not the fastest car out there but it's quick enough. If I want to go fast I can jump on the bike.
