dragolith
I keep getting Oil on my shiny new boots! I think its from when I used gear oil on my chain, still some residue.Whats the best way of cleaning it off?
rennie
use a degreaser, spray onto affected areas, maybe use a brush to really work in then rinse off with lots of cold water
Guest
oops, thats not good mate. are you oiling your chain when its hot?..could also be that your over oiling it. a good degreaser should remove the excess oil.

dragolith
Hooch, yeah I did usually, maybe I did use too much...Now I use a Dry Lube, I think the chain needs to be removed and cleaned properly. I lack the know how to perform this however...Phil/Rennie....I will check into that, thanks!EDITThey sell autoglym at Halfords for £3.99! And it looks like a multi purpose cleaning solution...sweet. Guest nigelf
Just use a cloth soaked in a little petrol on the bike effected areas, use boot polish on the boots. If anything the oil on boots will help them (water proof)Elf
