It cost me about £500 to have a gearbox repaired.If it is your gearbox and one of the cogs has lost some teeth, the teeth will be floating about and could cause it to seize up, so be careful if your riding it. Guest Posted May 18, 2008 Share Posted May 18, 2008 not too big a job if the gear box has gone, i did my r6 in 13 hours, start to finish, engine out, replace gear box and back together in the bike and a clean.if its just 1st gear gone, say 100 quid in parts if you can do it yourself.
