Hi all, need help please......

I own a quadzilla 250 and i have just started to get a knocking noise only in 1st gear.

Just wondering if anyone knows what this could be??? And if it would be expensive to fix

Dont know nothing about bikes so if you need more info on the problem let me know

Thanks in advance

Don't take this as gospel, but it sounds to me like a few teeth have come off first gear, in which case it could lock up at any moment.

wow just scare the crap right out him why dont you

could be as simple as tightening the chain to the gearbox is fooooked

more info needed m8, which side and what kind of noise

I know, but he says its only in first gear so I doubt its anything to do with the chain

It is only in 1st gear, i have listened for it in all the other gears.

Its coming from around the front sprocket area.

The only way i can explain it is that its a knocking sound, the faster i go in 1st the faster the knocking

How much am i looking at if it is 1st gear gone?

hundreds??

It cost me about £500 to have a gearbox repaired.

If it is your gearbox and one of the cogs has lost some teeth, the teeth will be floating about and could cause it to seize up, so be careful if your riding it. Personally I wouldn't use it.

not too big a job if the gear box has gone, i did my r6 in 13 hours, start to finish, engine out, replace gear box and back together in the bike and a clean.

if its just 1st gear gone, say 100 quid in parts if you can do it yourself.
