Has anyone used Pitchup?

 

I usually tour with my good lady, so hotels are the order of the day, but I’m considering taking a long weekend away soon. So I’m considering taking my tent…

I use them every time I go camping.

My first use of pitchup was when I toured around France, Spain and Portugal and was happy with the service.

One thing you need to keep in mind is that camping sites won't make all the vacant places available on the website so you will find that a site is showing in pitchup with 2 or 3 pitches available and when you get there it will be almost empty.

One site in south of France was showing 2 pitches available and when I got there I only found 1 other tent.

 

Other than that, the rates are good, the reviews are accurate, unless the ones complaining about the weather or the noisy birds, and direction for the site are very good.

Some of that sounds familiar from using booking dot com for hotels - we once worried that we wouldn’t get into the hotel at Fuentes De as it only showed two rooms available. There was us and one other couple… the hotel was otherwise empty.
