Wouter Smoors Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Dear fellow motorcyclists, My name is Wouter and i am from the Netherlands. I bought a bike a few days back for some beer (suzuki gsx600f from 1990). So since yesterday i was able to start the bike after checking the basic things. So here is the current problem when i start the motorcycle, when cold it runs nicely at 1400 rpm but then when i turn the throttle for the first time it will only drop back down to 3000-3500 rpm after the revv and stay there. But that’s not the only problem. When i rev, it will first drop 500 rpm before rising and after that the rpm will decrease really slow. I hope you guys can help me! Quote
linuxrob Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 An intro first would be nice before asking for help. intake leak comes to mind, be nice to know the bike and if anything has been done reasent please welcome rob b Quote
Wouter Smoors Posted April 15, 2022 Author Posted April 15, 2022 Dear Rob, thanks for the respons! I don’t know what has been done resently because i bought it like 1 week ago and only checked the following: oil, oilfilter, air filter and carburator rubber rings. So i checked an leak and with aerosol it raises the rpm but only when i spray it random and not on a specific place! Quote

Does the throttle feel smooth? Quote
fastbob Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 If you got the bike for some beer I would be pleased that it was running at all . It's pointless to speculate until you have stripped , cleaned and inspected the carburetors . Quote
