Tdm 850 oil top up.

The Old girl likes a drink of oil. I'll be going away for a few days for the gp at the end of the month so will need to take some oil with me for top ups. The oil filler cap is in a bloody awkward place. At the moment I use a long flexible funnel but don't want to take it with me. Any suggestions on how to get oil from the bottle into the bike without having to pack stupid items?

Paper makes a good temporary funnel when needed

Would a bit of flexi pipe work with a small funnel?

Can't remember but the side panel gets in the way. Bloody awkward. Gonna try a small funnel and a bit of pipe, that or a big syringe and tube.

You can get small collapsible funnels if space is tight too 

 

But they are made out of rubber and you would need a tight fit on the tube

A sheet of flexible silicone can be rolled into a funnel and then stored taking very little space. 

 

The stuff you can buy for baking sheets is strong enough.

Bought one of these, angled funnels bit like a giant sheewee  and seems to do the trick. It's the fairing side panel that really gets in the way.
