Following on from the tumble dryer the oven decided to pack in

 

Took it out to see why its tripping the rcd. 

Turns out the specialist tool required is a tea towel, couldn't get it to do anything meaningful with case off, no sign of a switch. 

 

Turns out the anti tamper/death from electrocution device is optical and built into the main pcb.

Turned out it was the lower element, this is why we have safety devices in the electric box 😁 

 

It had welded itself to the bottom of the oven, had to strip whole thing to get to point I could get in to pry it off.
