Hi all. Looking some information please. So was out for a good, long ride yesterday when the bike completely lost revs and cut out on me on the middle of a country road. The kill switch doesn't seem to be making a noise now when pressed on and bike won't start. Have tried changing the fuses, even went and got a new battery and still wouldn't work. Any advice about this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Need more information:

Does anything work (lights, indicators, horn)?

Do you get any indication of power at all when you turn on the ignition?

Is the battery charged up?

Depending on the answers, it could be:

Side stand switch failure

Ignition switch failure

Battery earth failure (broken lead)

Power harness failure (disconnected plug / broken wire / short to earth

The only time I've had this happen to me it turned out to be a loose connection to the battery. But a failing switch or side stand sensor could do something similar.

All lights, horn etc work fine. Just isn't starting up now. Full tank of petrol, oil etc in her. Brand new bike. Would it be something to do with he fuel pump not pressurising?

Brand new bike as in a 72 plate? Get the dealer to pick it up and leave you a demo bike while they fix it.

What kind of bike might help matters. Someone might have knowledge and experience with your particular bike :thumb:

It could be due to a bad kill switch button. If you've some knowledge, unscrew the kill switch on your handlebar and check if the wires are not broken. If it's broken, you need to replace your kill switch. (Join both wires to bypass Kill Switch temporarily)

Other reasons, such as a Dirty spark plug, bad starter, corroded battery terminals, bad grounding, clogged fuel line, clogged air filter, dirty carburetor, etc., could lead to starting problems.

Don't waste your breath.  Another entitled type that came on here without so much as a how do you do, rocked up with his question, returned a week later to look at his trawl of answers and never returned.

Hate this type that expect everything and contribute nothing.
