yh i see what you mean! removable chin guard, sun visor, open face, not bad tbh, people on the HSOCUK (Honda shadow owners club) hwo have on say they cant fault it, i wonder if its on the rating thing yet...sharp is it?

Looks like Sharp are testing them and should have results soon.... Personally I would take that result with a big pinch of salt though. They need to work on the testing system.

personally i dont think its that good and needs refining,

as for that lid, up to you mate, I dont like that style myself and like full face.

I really dislike the lift up front ones, they dont pass the existing test when the face is open....cant see the point in em at all.

if you buy agv, shoei or arai you know you are safe !!

fair enough, whys that? cant be bad for a rough guide though can it?

The tests are done on parts of the helmet that very rarely actually take a hit in an accident. It's a guide to a certain extent, but not perfect in anyway!!

I agree... Apparently one good reason is so you can have a ciggie without taking your lid off!!

Wind noise is sometimes a problem with lift up fronts as well.

pmsl, well when i take up smoking i will buy one then lol

QUITE

I think if you're spending £115 on a lid, it's not likely to shatter in to a million pieces on impact or anything so drastic. Is a mean looking thing though foz, i'd have thought better you get an open face, a bandanna and some aviator shades?

That helemt would look awesom with a black steetfighter of some kind.

Bill it is an open face, the front chin guard comes off! bandana and shades already sorted, though it is not aviator style! dont suit me :D

very good lids IMO had it two years and its been excellent

once they passed all the usual tests they decided to shoot this lid with a shot gun from a distance of 1 metre :? it only marked the outer shell

so if someone shoots me i will be fine

but as i say OSBE in my opinion are very good i have been looking for a new lid and was just thinking of getting another one of these :)

Flip fronts are handy when getting petrol, nipping into the bank, popping to the shops, having a drink, using your mobile etc without taking your lid off.

I like my agv longway - but it is quite noisy, and i never ride with the chin guard up.

Really like the look of that lid though!

ive got a caberd trip which is a flip front, i never flip it up! if im stopping for petrol i just take it off lol mainly because most of the places your not allowed to walk in with a helmet on

Also good for eyeglass wearers like me  -much easier to put glasses on than my full face. I'm thinking about replacing my shoei full face lid (raid 2) with their flip front one. I do hear they are noisier at speed though, but with earplugs I don't think it will matter that much...

according to some sites

it says:

Also comes with air tight lining around the ears to give a quiet ride

Flip front helmets are also useful for opening the airway without having to remove the helmet and risk exacerbating a cervical injury.

THAT'S why I wear one.

not yet, i dont have a need for it yet as i dont have a bike atm, but when i do get another bike this (or the givi helmet which is similar) will be bought lol
