Lost phone app anyone?

Hi,

So my youngest has lost his phone at the weekend. He is a student at Birmingham uni was probably pissed etc etc.

Could anyone recommend a decent app for finding a phone? It's an android.

Just type find my android into google. Will probably be the first result. You can then log onto your (his) google account and find any of your android devices

Hi, yep that works for me it knows where my phone is. If he logs on to his laptop he may get lucky. I'll pass that on and see if he gets anywhere, thanks.

Update.

That didn't work sadly, no signal so the phone is lost by the looks of it. He has contacted the people he needed to so stuff is safe.

There are loads of apps to find and monitor phones but you have to have the app on the phone first, looks like they are designed for watching over your kids at school. Not sure an adult would want to be tracked in the same way but if it found a lost phone maybe...

You need to have location finding turned on, make sure he does it with new phone.

I use findmysamsung straight off the google page - no app installed etc that I know of?

Maybe it's built into Samsung phones?

 I don't have location on, and it picks up from my works wifi apparently.

If someone has seen it and decided to keep it for themselves they'll leave it switched off purposely so tracking wont work until they can take it to a dodgy phone shop and get phone erased

Don't give up just yet.

Android has the ability built in, you don't need an app you just have to give Google permission to stalk you, you can log into your Google account on any other device and see where your lost device was last seen.

 

Samsung have a very heavily modified version of android running on its phones, which personal gets on my tits so anything is possible with them.

Once upon a time the IMEI number could be tracked, now a 5yr old could probably dl the required progs and change it.
