How Motorcycling Aids Your Mental Health (UK)

Recommended Posts

Please only complete this survey if you have motorcycle riding experience in the UK.

I'm C.R. Eede, and I'm excited to share my journey as an autistic motorcycle rider in a book I'm working on. Diagnosed with Asperger's (later amended to Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in 2013, I ventured into the biking community in late 2023, starting with a matte black 125cc automatic twist-and-go scooter and later transitioning to a white and grey-accented Honda CB125F.

Despite the challenges, I've accumulated a mix of positive and negative experiences since 2013, forming the foundation of my upcoming book. As a novice rider, I've been fortunate to find support and friendship through social media, motorcycle clubs, and mentors who guided me on the road, boosting my confidence. Now, with the aim of challenging stereotypes, I want to use my book to encourage others, especially future generations, to embrace the joy and confidence that come with the motorcycling lifestyle. Hollywood and public perceptions often portray motorcycles as dangerous and immature, but with proper precautions and knowledge, riding can be a safe and thrilling experience.
I'm reaching out to the biking community to gather insights for a chapter on motorcycling's positive impact on mental well-being. As an enthusiast, I'm intrigued by the idea that the freedom of the open road and the hum of a powerful engine can extend beyond the ride, positively influencing one's mental state.

Your unique perspective as a biker is crucial to my research. I want to learn about your experiences, thoughts, and reflections on how motorcycling has affected your mental health. Whether it's the sense of freedom, stress relief, or the camaraderie among fellow bikers, your input is invaluable. Participating in this confidential survey will contribute to a broader understanding of the mental health benefits associated with motorcycling. Any shared experiences will be presented anonymously unless you specify otherwise. Your sincerity and openness in recounting your experiences are greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for being a vital part of this survey and contributing to a better understanding how riding can enhance our overall well-being.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns at [email protected].

Ride on,
C.R. Eede
