barryjones_2003 Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 I experienced a loss of power after reaching 30 mph. Once I got home, I inspected my bike, removing the filter and so on, until I came to the spark plug. As you can see from the picture, it was burnt out. I only serviced it four weeks ago. So, my concern is why this happened and whether there might now be a problem with components in my engine. 1 Quote

Bender Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Usually that's too lean too hot or a really bad ignition timing, you need to sort it though cause next hole will be in the piston. If It was fine before you serviced it then it's probably something you've done, check and re check everything you touched, if you have the old plug and it's fine you can use that to see if it still runs ok. Change air filter, change oil and change spark plug. Haven't touch anything else Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 There's a lot of bogus NGK plugs on ebay. Was the plug replaced when you serviced it? As above....if there's a mix or timing issue that has destroyed the plug then you need to sort it ASAP. I'd get the compression checked as the missing bits from the plug must have gone somewhere. Hopefully expelled through an open valve but I've seen plugs like that do significant internal damage. 1 Quote
