Motorcycle App Idea Survey

Hello everyone, I'm a student from Germany and have been a motorcycle owner for about four months now. I'm currently participating in a User Centred Design course as part of my university degree, for which I've designed some prototypes for an app meant to track service, maintenance and fuel history of your motorcycle.

I've completed your survey. I quite like it but, being honest, I wouldn't pay for this. The real value in these records is how it affects resale value of the bike and, for that, I need paper records.

 

That doesn't make it a bad idea - it just means that your income model would probably be best with targeted advertising. Perhaps with an option to 'pay to remove ads'.

Fuelly.com can do most of this and it’s free.

Done survey wouldnt use and defo wouldn’t pay for it. Sorry no real use to me.

I do use Fuelio all the time. Good for keeping track of Service Schedules / Fuel Consumption / Bills and Expenses etc. I think even hooks into GPS although I don't use that. I also put insurance details in there so always have the policy no. etc. to hand.

Usually these things make money by having a free tier and paid for add-ons, whether a social network element, advanced features or simply removing ads.

All done. I wouldn't pay for it either, although it does sound like a good idea for an app.

I keep a digital schedule of what needs doing already, and a copy for all receipts etc to pass on when I sell it
