dazzer Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 I have a zontes 125 3a 2018 I have put a brand new carburetor on it and now it doesn't run very well I've tried tuning but when I rev the bike the revs stay high I have made multiple adjustments but its running very rich and throwing out black smoke multiple adjustments won't make any difference can anyone please help Quote
AstronautNinja Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 @Tiggie (sorry I can't remember any other mods haha) Maybe you can move to Pitstop for some more relevant traffic 1 Quote
Tiggie Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 @AstronautNinja No worries, I'm the only one who does any work here anyway 5 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 (edited) When you say new do you mean new or used? If its used it could have been royally changed on the previous bike. if its new then you might have to change the cable setting on the bike as they could have been changed to allow wear of the old one. Sounds like either the choke is still on while your doing it or the balance of the carbs is to to high to the revs you have set it too, those are the first things I’d check. Hairsy Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Agreed - if it's a 'brand new second hand carb' then a strip down and clean of the carb is the first thing to try, along with setting adjustment screws back to factory standard. I also wonder ... why did you fit a replacement carb? What was the problem you were trying to solve? 1 Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Stuck float? Incorrect Idle Jet? Strip the carb and check all is OK. Quote
