AstronautNinja Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Am I right in thinking this toggle wheel moves the menu left and right? Mine appears to do nothing Menu up and down works via the menu switch, I can't for the life in my work out how to move to the right? Is my spinney wheel broken? Quote
Solution bonio Posted August 19, 2024 Solution Posted August 19, 2024 (edited) You've got the manual? If not its here: F_0K11_RM_0623_01.pdf (bmw-motorrad.com) Pages 96-116. (this is for the latest model, yours might be different). Edited August 19, 2024 by bonio Quote
RideWithStyles Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Off memory it does but you might need to press something else like menu first so it know you want to interact with it rather than accidentally. Quote

keith1200rs Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Yes, the arrow on the right means you press the wonderwheel to the right to get to the next screen. Quote

Unfortunately I can't award you all SOLUTION I'll double check when I'm with the bike tomorrow but reading the fvcking instructions has clarified many points haha. I'm so used to forums being the first port of call for most questions rather than the manual that was in the draw right next to me Quote
keith1200rs Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Does pushing right work on other screens? For example on the screen before the one you showed (my vehicle) you should get a choice which includes setting/nav/sport screen ... can you scroll right then? Quote

I didn't realise the scroll wheel moved to the left and right when I tried it earlier. The bike lives 10 mins away with a local mechanic so I'll try again tomorrow most likely. Upon reflection I should of just checked the manual I do remember going through the menu when I first collected the bike and considering it hasn't moved since I presume I was just being an idiot rather than it has broken whilst stationary...... keith1200rs Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 The wheel turns and rocks from side to side depending on what you are doing. Turning the wheel goes up and down menu lists, left/right goes left & right. There is usually a clue as to which way you can go on the screen- an arrow or two. Quote

Ye that was what lead me yo question it's function with it not working vertically. I will have a try again tomorrow and most likely conclude I was just having a brain fart moment Quote
Stu Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 The wonderwheel has many uses! Learn what it all does before it pisses you off on the road Does yours allow the use of the connected ride app and sat nav directions on the screen? Quote

Just to clarify When I bought it we did go through the menus etc, I obviously didn't spot the guy pushing to the right. Due to me waiting for my test I was just having a fiddle to connect my phone via the app. I gave the nob a rotational twizsle and decided I need to check online after concluding I'm missing something obvious (I was clearly too millenial to consider using the hand book) I'll go and click it right shortly. I presume all works correctly and I was just being stupid. Quote

It will all work they very rarely go wrong to be fair and when they do it's the spring inside which gives it the notchy feel as you turn it 2 Quote
