Contaminated Tyre.......

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Just returned from a quick ride and noticed I have contamination on my rear tyre.

I know what it is. It is Chain Lube and some of it is on the sidewall of the tyre and a tiny bit is on the main bit of the tyre on the edge.

I want to remove it obviously but don't want to do the tyre in so what would be the best way of removing it?

I am thinking warm soapy water but not 100% sure hence the ask. :)

hot water and wipe it off with a rag too :) never had any problems doing this

i have been known to even pour boiling water on the tyre while i turn the wheel at the same time the heat isnt on long enough to damage the tyre but enough to remove the oil :)
