Sk93 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Hopefully G.o.G won't read this and shout at me I've got to just over 155mph indicated on 04 R6, and I've had 145mph indicated on my current ninja - both on track.Car wise, I've had a GPS speed of 203mph in my fairlady along Döttinger-Höhe straight in Nurburgring (the LOOOONG bit just before the exit gates)If you're interested, time from start gate to bridge was a crappy 9:23 Quote

cossie916 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I've seen 180mph on the speedo whilst riding two bikes:Highly tuned TL1000R and a stock Hayabusa I was test riding. (on an Autobahn obviously!) Quote

Platty5791 Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 o my god, i thought my 140 before bottlin it was good >.<" haha Quote
Guest Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 fastest would've been after my cbt the instructor gave me a lift into town. don't know the exact speed, but was over 70, less than 100. was first time pillion and was pretty cool to be a a bike with more power right after a day on a CG! think it was a er-5? it was his winter bike my ybr only does up to 70 downhill Quote
Guest Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 115 the other day on my Fazer... nice quiet motorway on the way to work (which was suprising!).The bike wanted to go faster, but I didn't!Hell of a thrill... although I do need a bigger screen for comfort! Quote

Likewise, I have broken that speed limit a few times, an indicated 170mph on my 916 and 160mph in the Cossie.Looking forward to seeing what results the 1098s and the new Cossie engine can achieve! My best laps are 8:39 in the Cossie and a P**s Poor 11:20 on the 916.(Its a lot bloody scarier on a bike!) Hopefully I can improve both on my next visits! Quote
wiffers Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Been on back of mates GSX-R 750 at 130MPH - still pulling away nicely, but fcuk me was I holding him tightFastest I've driven was 75MPH last week during CBT Quote
nman1 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Guy on Golden Balls had done 176 on his R1, but of course this was on a track......honest officer At that speed, me personally, would crap myselfe Quote
wiffers Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Incidentally, I felt safer on the back of bike at 130MPH than I did in an M3 at 150MPH (same road, but in M3 it was raining)Guy who rides bike has redlined his GSX-R 750 (chipped), a fireblade, A GSX-R 1000 and gone over 200 on a hayabusa (spelling) - crazy crazy rider ... Hopefully I can improve both on my next visits! There's a speed limit? hehe.. yes.. and every time, without failure, I've been bollocked for doing so I can understand why tho, because you really need to get on the brakes quite hard after that sign.. lol11:20 is a tad on the slow-side.... trafic issues or "grip" issues? 8:39 is much more respectable I'm definately wanting to try the bike route, but I really doubt I'll get anywhere faster than 10 minutes... I think I'd crap myself One question tho... on the carousel... that's some seriously bumpy surface. On bikes is it best to aim for the flat stuff at the top and cruise the corner - or is the carousel "safe" enough? Quote
cossie916 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I did the flat bit everytime on the bike, but that was the first time I'd been and only did about 10 laps. I've done loads in the car now and went round the carousel everytime, so I may even dare to go around it on the bike next time (doing a slow speed bump test run first! ). I bet the front wheel lifts a lot coming out of it though!! I didn't get in to trouble for speeding along the straight bit but did get a lot of funny looks! I started to obey the limit in the end, I'll save the top end runs for the Autobahn on the way there next time! (If its quiet enough! ) Quote
Sk93 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 perhaps we should arrange a TMBF outting sometime next year? Quote
cossie916 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Sounds good to me!Not got much cash left after getting my 1098s though . I'll have to sweet talk her indoors! Quote

No Way ! Ah, might aswel, you only live once. What I find intersting about Randy Mamola, is that he started racing when he was 20, won his first race when he was 21, unlike "child prodigies" who start at the age of 6. Quote

Closed road, track, test road, and a bike setup by experts, but would like to hit 150mph....Would never go on the back of a bike with anyone though..... Im a control freak. Can't help myself. Quote
