Hello all, as I'm discovering things about this bike I just bought I've found this in the battery compartment that isn't connected to anything. I was thinking maybe an old alarm? Disabler? Any thoughts anyone? It has a glass fuse in the red wire lead. Thanks

As @Yorky says.

Looks like a battery tender connector.

Usually connected directly to the battery.

As above. The idea is that one end is permanently connected to the battery and the other end of the lead is tucked away somewhere dryish but accessible. Makes it quick and easy to plug in a trickle charger when you're not riding.

Thanks but I'm new to biking so have no idea what's being explained. If it's not connected I assume don't need it

If you don't have a battery tender you won't need it connected.

However, of your bike have any kind of alarm or something that uses the battery when you're not riding, as example of Honda's H.I.S.S. then you really need one.

Something like this
