Simon Davey Posted January 23 Posted January 23 So I have an LED batten. It's one of the "industrial" types that opens up and has a removable board with two strips of LED's and a 60w driver on the back. Only some of the LEDs light up, maybe just 25%. It's one of three lights, and the others are starting to do the same. Is it the driver, or just shite lights? TIA. This is a fairly good one The shadow in the light is LEDs not working. I've lowered the exposure, they're bright lights. Quote
Bender Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Li would think it's the LEDs for the price of them I would just bin it and replace it 1 1 Quote

I was just wondering if the driver could cause this issue, but, I think you're right. They were over £100 each, and only managed <2000 hours. I'll use the usual Screwfix ones I have a stock of, they're £30 and will last just as long, if not much longer. 1 Quote

You could work out the voltage and either change the strip or try a repair but for 30 it is not worth the effort cause chances are another bit will fail 1 Quote
husoi Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Unless you have a separate ballast you can't repair those lights. The alternative would be getting a strip of LEDs and replace them. Is it worth the trouble? Will you be saving enough? 1 Quote

I was hoping someone might know if it was the driver, or the actual LEDs. Quote
RideWithStyles Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Our work has them, when they go in stages like that, it’s junk, better to just replace them whole unit. 1 Quote
husoi Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) Years ago I bought some short interconnected lights. I think about 37cm long and connectors both ends. They were quite cheap and still working. The shop is CPCfarnell.com Edited January 24 by husoi 1 Quote
