So I have an LED batten.

It's one of the "industrial" types that opens up and has a removable board with two strips of LED's and a 60w driver on the back.

Only some of the LEDs light up, maybe just 25%.

It's one of three lights, and the others are starting to do the same.

Is it the driver, or just shite lights?

TIA.

This is a fairly good one 😕

The shadow in the light is LEDs not working.

I've lowered the exposure, they're bright lights.

Li would think it's the LEDs for the price of them I would just bin it and replace it

Cheers matey, pretty much what I thought. I was just wondering if the driver could cause this issue, but, I think you're right.

They were over £100 each, and only managed <2000 hours.

I'll use the usual Screwfix ones I have a stock of, they're £30 and will last just as long, if not much longer.

You could work out the voltage and either change the strip or try a repair but for 30 it is not worth the effort cause chances are another bit will fail

Unless you have a separate ballast you can't repair those lights.

The alternative would be getting a strip of LEDs and replace them.

Is it worth the trouble?

Will you be saving enough?

It does have a separate driver/ballast, but probably not worth it.

I was hoping someone might know if it was the driver, or the actual LEDs.

Years ago I bought some short interconnected lights.

I think about 37cm long and connectors both ends.

They were quite cheap and still working.

The shop is CPCfarnell.com
